Joint Operations Centers (JOCs)
Joint Operation Centers (JOCs) are integrated command and coordination centres established to facilitate real-time communication and collaboration between various agencies involved in joint operations at Ports of Entry/Exit (PoEs).
JOCs bring together representatives from multiple government agencies who are able to respond quickly to security threats or incidents. They serve as central points for monitoring activities, sharing information, and ensuring coordinated responses to border security challenges.
Currently GOK has been able to establish, train and operationalize six (6) JOCs in:
- Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA)
- Namanga One Stop Border Post (OSBP)
- Kilindini Port
- Moi International Airport (MIA)
- Lungalunga OSBP
- Kisumu Port
FUNCTIONS
The functions of the Joint Operation Centers (JOC) are as follows:
- Target threats emanating from the movement of persons and cargo
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate information
- Implements BMC and BCOCC directives
- Enhance the sharing of information
