Kenya Coordinated Border Management Program (KCBMP)

The Kenya Coordinated Border Management Program (KCBMP) is a 10-day pioneering initiative designed to strengthen Kenya's border security while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Developed through collaborative efforts between the Border Management Secretariat and the Kenya School of Government's Security Management Institute, this comprehensive program addresses critical needs identified by the Border Control and Operations Coordination Committee (BCOCC).

KCBMP equips government officers stationed at Kenya's ports of entry and exit (PoEs) with essential knowledge and up-to-date skills to effectively execute their respective mandates. The curriculum embraces a whole-of-government approach, breaking down silos between agencies and fostering enhanced cooperation among border officials.

Since its launch in 2020, the program has successfully trained 11 cohorts of frontline border officials working in Kenya’s PoEs, significantly improving border security operations and Kenya's business relationships with regional and international partners. The training focuses on among others, enhancing cross-border security, trade facilitation, and revenue generation at PoEs.
